What is a rescued animal?

A rescued animal is one that has been taken into a "kill" shelter for disposition and has been taken into temporary custody by an organization that will find the animal a permanent home. There are many different reasons why an animal may end up in the shelter. Common reasons include: strays, owner surrender or seized by law enforcement. The animals that are able to be placed into homes are then made available to the public. Most animals that are rescued suffer from an easily treatable illness that typically is cured within a month. Unfortunately, the animal care and control facilities are bombarded with incoming animals everyday and cannot hold these animals for treatment. This is where the rescue comes in, without a temporary shelter that will provide the needed care these animals would be destroyed just because they have an illness and no room exists at the kill shelter.

Do you only rescue certain breeds?

No, we are not breed specific and have found forever homes for many different breeds.

How do you house your rescued animals?

All of our rescues are placed into foster homes that provide care for the animal while it is in our custody. The benefits are such that the animal is able to behave normally, have social interaction with people and are also able to exercise and not be kenneled.
